7 Nights in Spain: Barcelona & Madrid for Two

A custom anniversary itinerary through two of Spain's most exciting cities. This seven-night journey combines Barcelona's architecture, food, and shopping with Madrid's art, parks, and nightlife, creating a romantic city escape with plenty to experience without making every day feel overscheduled.

The Journey

Architecture, Food & Shopping in Barcelona

The trip begins in Barcelona, where several days allow the couple to experience the city without rushing through its most memorable neighborhoods and landmarks. The itinerary combines iconic architecture with food, shopping, and time to enjoy the city at their own pace.

Highlights include La Boqueria and Las Ramblas, Casa Milà, Casa Batlló, the Sant Pau Recinte, and Parc Güell. A day along Passeig de Gràcia pairs Barcelona's celebrated architecture with shopping, lunch, and a private guided experience at Casa Batlló before a late Catalan dinner.

Art, Tapas & Madrid

A train ride connects Barcelona and Madrid, making the transition between the two cities part of a straightforward itinerary rather than another complicated travel day.

Once in Madrid, the pace shifts toward parks, art, food, and evenings out. The itinerary includes El Retiro, Picasso's Guernica, the Royal Palace of Madrid, and a tapas and wine experience, giving the couple a distinctly different taste of Spain's capital.

One Final Night in Barcelona

Rather than adding another destination simply because there is time, the itinerary returns to Barcelona for the final night. It creates a comfortable transition before the flight home and leaves room for one last memorable experience together before the trip ends.

Why This Spain Itinerary Works

A romantic trip doesn't need to mean spending a week at a resort. For couples who love exploring together, the right city itinerary can feel just as special.

Barcelona and Madrid offer two distinct experiences while remaining easy to combine by train. The itinerary leaves enough time in each city to experience it properly, mixing planned sightseeing with great meals, shopping, art, and evenings that aren't rushed.

Most importantly, the trip was designed around the couple taking it. Their interests shaped the itinerary, rather than forcing their anniversary into a predetermined package.

That's the philosophy behind every Landers & Co. trip: start with the travelers, then build the itinerary around them.
